Bill Ostendorf, Creative Circle's founder and president, will be leading three workshops at the Wyoming Press Association's Winter Convention in Casper, Wyoming.

At 10:30 a.m. Friday, he'll lead a session on "The Agency Approach," on how newspapers can grow revenue by become local ad agencies. That means taking a stronger role in the design of all a company's marketing and advertising and handling advertising in a range of media, not just newspapers.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, Bill will lead a layout and design workshop for newsrooms focusing on how to produce more compelling pages and packages for readers.

At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Bill will lead a session on how to improve print display advertising focusing on how newspapers can create more effective advertising for readers and advertisers. "A vast majority of our print ads really miss the mark," says Ostendorf. "They are boring or ineffective and don't target the right audience. Taking advertisers' money for ads that don't work is a dangerous game and one of the reasons newspapers are in trouble today. It's something we have to get fixed!"
