I love the redesign. I love the way we did it. I think we learned a lot. I think our staff got a lot better. . . . Our products are far and away better than when we started.

I love the redesign. I love the way we did it. I think we learned a lot. I think our staff got a lot better.

The openness about what was needed to be done to re-engage our readers is better than ever before.

You put us down a path that we need to continue.

Our products are far and away better than when we started.

Creative Circle led a redesign of two papers owned by Sandusky Newspapers – the Johnson City (Tenn.) Press and the Times News in Kingsport, Tenn. – that also involved creating a centralized production desk to produce both papers, which are about 25 miles apart and have overlapping markets.

While their markets were similar, there were distinct difference and we wanted to make sure the redesigns reflected that. The papers largely use the same fonts and style but we built in enough differences so they would look different and still feel appropriate to their individual markets.

Traning is always a big part of our redesign projects as we try to shift content, workflows and decisions to be more reader-centric and engaging. Because of that intense training program, papers often continue to get better even after the redesign.
